Pros

It was a job and some of the people were fun to work with. Insurance rates were okay as well.

Cons

Micro management. Long hours where you have to sit down at your desk and be tied to a phone all day long. The transportation industry is full of lying people and companies and I truly feel like this company fits right in. Don't expect anything but to be used and then discarded from R2.

As the company continues to grow there have and will continue to be changes that will be made. We understand this sometimes can be frustrating, but changes are necessary to stay competitive with industry trends.

Pros

Fun and laid back atmosphere. The company will provide snacks and lunches regularly. Not much pressure individually unless you're a pod leader. My healthcare plan was the BOMB. I payed like 4x as much at my next job.

Cons

I've seen weird promotions. It's not all that clear on how to get from transportation sales to POD leader. There is merit to what R2 says...if you work hard and put your effort in you can move up. But a few times I've seen head scratching promotions to people who lack communication skills and leadership...not the person you want communication to your customers on a daily basis. Selling the most loads seems to be a cool thing for R2. While it doesn't mean anything, really. If you have a headset and can hit the "answer" button as soon as the phone rings you'll have a really good shot at selling a lot of loads. For example when I was finally given a headset my number of loads sold about doubled because I could answer the phone faster. The hours suck. New hires typically get the worst shift on their team. 9 to 6 or so. It's a terrible shift. Nothing happens from about 4:30 to 6 anyway. You'll most likely do nothing the last hour of the day and have to stay regardless. No second shift for handling the phones at night. This is the biggest head scratcher to me. After working 45 hours a week POD leaders have to take their phones home with them weekly and on weekends. The other BS policy is the agreement you sign not to talk about base salary with anyone. Apparently R2 is giving raises to people in secret and wants you not to talk about it. This is a shady practice and creates more negativity than positive. The turnover is ridiculous. We had a kid quit after two days one. And about 70% of the 20 or so people who worked there when I worked there are gone. They just plug in new graduates into their 33k base salary and say have fun.

Pros

R2 Logistics has great opportunities for advancement for those who WANT TO WORK and WANT TO WIN. There are no more 9-5 bankers hours jobs that you start right at the executive level. You have to EARN the top spot through hard work and commitment. I personally think the executives are very hands on with day to day operations ensuring people are equipped to perform their jobs properly and offer insight. The operations offices are lively, upbeat, and energetic environments the promote a fun working environment. No two days are the same working in transportation and there are always new performances, data, and news to be learned.

Cons

Many people complain about the pay grade, but fail to remember this is a sales job. You have a base salary and can earn additional income if you have the drive to want to do so. A con I have experienced is that you can get stressed easily when an issue occurs on a transit, even when it is out of your hands and cannot control it.
