What it’s like being an apprentice

Pros

The apprentice course for the RAC is a brilliant way to learn! Management are really helpful and very supportive. You will also learn so much working with one of the patrols as they will teach you everything you they know. This is a perfect apprenticeship if you want to learn about cars and if you enjoy helping people out.

Cons

Shift work isn’t for everyone but it is also really easy to get the hang of it and you still get loads of weekends off.

Pros

Only been with the RAC for a short amount of time but absolutely love it. The colleagues, the job, the benefits and the management are amazing. I feel very privileged to have a role here.

Nothing to mention, great place.

Pros

Gives basic mechanical knowledge to get vehicles to safety from the roadside. Equipped with all tools and equipment needed to execute the job and all expenses are paid for.

Cons

No option for Level 3 qualification offered. No course for SMR/ mobile mechanics. Personally I am on my 4th mentor now and can’t seem to settle into a routine for work due to the constant changes.
