Cons

Really strict on new starts and not particularly well supported. Unrealistic kpi expectations especially for smr referrals and mixed messages regarding processes.

Pros

It’s a good job, I really enjoy giving my best to each and every member and being a good patrol, and a great way to start to learn about mechanics. You get a van and tools, training on how to use the vans RDT which can really help a member in a sticky situation. Training is given at regular intervals and delivered by a great team in which they make it fun and enjoyable. College is at regular intervals provided by an outside company but they enjoy promoting RAC

Cons

You don’t really learn that much about mechanics, it’s mostly theory based and thus have no practical application especially when you are on a high speed road and you haven’t got the skills to do the job, you've got the knowledge but not the skill to get the job done, quickly and efficiently. Unfortunately this is a huge let down and does cause problems at roadside and trying to give the member your best diagnosis.

Love how you are supporting our members as best you can, It's a shame you haven't learned much regarding the skill side of the role. I would encourage you to reach out to your line manager or a member of the management team and let them know you want to develop further. Really appreciate you taking the time to leave a review, all voices count :)
