Pros

I was working in care, and this job has accelerated my learning of insurance and motoring industry compliance. I have gained knowledge and IT skills. I felt the coaching and mentoring has enabled me to reach the targets after a 5 - 6 month time frame. A decent cost of living adjustment was made to improve the salary. And after being here for six months I feel included, accepted and liked as an employee. These are important non tangible aspects of a working environment. The restaurant and coffee shop facilities are good also.

Cons

It is shift work, so start and end times of the working day change over the month. It tends to be earlies then lates in a row but sometimes I would prefer more set working patterns in a job. Although on the plus side the rota is set out well in advance, so you can plan around it. Also holiday requests have been approved without quibble.

Pros

Been here since June. It's been good so far. It's a really welcoming office full of lovely people. Any managers I've worked under have been great. They're really supportive; there's a big culture around developing you in areas you find tough and making sure you get plenty of constructive feedback. I've never felt like I can't ask a question or get some advice. Training is good, really in-depth and I felt well prepared afterwards (but be ready to learn as you go). The companies got some very nice incentives, overtime options and bonus schemes. if you've done call centre work before, it's a breeze but it could be an adjustment if you haven't done it before. Overall, changing jobs to work at the RAC has been great for me.

Cons

I think for most part it'll come down to your own preferences but it might not be the best place to work if you find hitting targets stressful. If you're not receptive to feedback (there will be lots) so you're keeping to the company's standards, then maybe its not for you either. It can get pretty hectic when its busy and things do chop and change overnight so be ready for that.
