Pros

The researchers are interesting colleagues.

Cons

The billable hours system is exploitative at RAND, and you're expected to work hour than you are compensated for, and to fit more work in one "billable hour" than you can reasonably do.

Pros

Good compensation and benefits, the people are great, remote work is very flexible. I get to use my research skills. Most projects involve working with an inter-disciplinary team.

Cons

Internal bureaucracy can make things more complicated than they need to be.
