Pros

The most recognized name in real estate in Canada and USA. They have the best marketing tools of any real estate company and most of them are free of charge. The compensation or real estate commissions are the best in the marketplace. They are on the leading edge of any technology that assists in your marketing ability and provide premier market presence by spending millions on keeping the brand on top. A very charitable organization as well supporting Childrens Miracle Network, Kumon Breast Cancer Awareness, plus numerous other special interest groups and programs. Peers are a very professional group and very willing to help.

Cons

Head office could make independant office visits more frequently. As a RE/MAX Realtor you are recognized by peers from other companies as a "Top Producer or you wouldn't be at RE/MAX" and it occassionally breeds contempt or jealousy from some of your peers from other companies.

Pros

Flexiblity of more or less being your own boss makes it a very nice place to work in terms of taking a day off when you need to, etc, or shaping your schedule different from day to day as needed. Earning power has no upper limit, so in a good market, you can do very well financially

Cons

Have to be willing to work totally on commission. Just the demands of real estate can interfere a good bit with your family life...i.e. weekend and evening hours, and having to have your cell phone on nearly all of the time

Pros

The supportive environment helping you to grow cannot be matched in this particular office. There is genuine caring for the success of all persons in the office. Training and outreach is ongoing to all staff. Constructive criticism is openly accepted by senior staff and there is usually follow though evidenced.

Cons

Need for weekend and evening hours can sometimes be difficult. As sales work is all on a commission basis, income depends on the skill and committment of each individual worker. The potential is great but you need to work for it. Benefits are available at a cost. They are not included.
