      Not what it once was and leadership is driving it into the ground

      Pros

      Great discounts, mostly great people, good work/life balance.

      Cons

      Everything else. There's a reason the CEO has a below 40% rating. The entire leadership team is failing. They seem to be throwing darts during planning meetings to see what next plan will be. IT will be reduced in 1/2 in two years. Out sourcing position to contractors in Latin America and India.

      Highly political environment Constantly shifting priorities Lack of communication Specializes in throwing folks under the bus Those who really know what’s up are not consulted, or are ignored.

      Pros

      It's easy to identify the people who still care - because they are the exception.

      Cons

      Co-opted - one who has ceased to strive for better because it's REI and nobody is ever held accountable. Poisonous HQ culture from CEO on down. Backstabbing and decision by consensus is the norm, no wonder most projects are over budget and delayed. Extensive leadership turnover in the past year, unfortunately not replaced by anything better. Too many lifers waiting for retirement.
