      Depends on your supervisor, but quickly going downhill.

      Pros

      REI has the capability of being amazing, but the new trends of concentrating on dollars, rather than the core concept of being a co-op, tend to take away from the value of working at the Co-op. Add to that a really poor supervisor, and you begin to wonder why you're there any longer. A good supervisor, and the perks and community are worthwhile. However, because of the new workplace direction, all the good ones are leaving, and the terrible supervisors are staying.

      much-hyped "progressive" culture isn't w/ regard to labor

      quiet time, discounts, relative autonomy

      Cons

      wage theft as you wait for the evening close-down to be finished; that is, you've already clocked out but are not allowed to leave. also fun to constantly accused of thievery, hence the lock-in and verrrrryy slow "bag check."

      Good place to work, overall positive environment and flexible schedule. Nice employee perks.

      Cons

      A few roles get much more pressure than others, and the management throughout the company is way too political and pushes their social stances on the employees in an unprofessional way.
