Pros

REI has a great sales floor team and great people in general, plus you can't ignore the discounts.

Cons

Management and corporate constantly push the membership, even when every customer you speak to is already a member. They can throttle hours if you aren't meeting their goals--which they may not communicate with you until it's too late.

Pros

Flexible Schedule if you're working more than one job

Cons

If you're a woman or a minority, you're likely to be paid a lower wage, despite REI's BIPOC and gender inclusion marketing focus.

Pros

Working here has made the outdoors accessible to me as I was never really able to afford the many resources to enjoy outside. Discounts are nice, and the insurance is not bad! You also get handed many opportunities to grow and to develop your professional leadership skills.

Cons

It feels as if management doesn’t hear you at times. Business is often put first and that may result in decisions that make the environment stressed, or unhappy. There is very little representation of diversity when it comes to the co-op, but there has been an effort of outreach to promote diversity and inclusion.
