Pros

Managers at my location will work with you if you have a scheduling conflict. They're compassionate and understanding. They check in with me whenever an issue comes up to make sure that I'm doing okay.

Cons

Mandatory shift requirements for part timers: one 4 hour shift during the weekday and one 8 hour shift on the weekend. Schedules not posted very far in advance and time off requests are not guaranteed which makes it incredibly difficult to plan for things. If there's inclement weather, your car can't start, you're sick, or any other valid reason you can't make it in, you will get an unexcused absence. Higher ups are union busters and will not allow us to nominate REI employees onto the board, instead cherry-picking candidates themselves that serve corporate American interests.
