I came into this company under the belief that as a “team” RI genuinely cared for its guests and employees. I cannot emphasize enough how completely corporately driven my experience with this company has been. I applied for this position hoping that I can better help the many people in my community recover and locate services individually crafted for them as a Recovery Coach. From the very beginning, until currently. Yes, I am an employee and I wouldn’t be surprised that after management views this review they find a way to terminate my role. But that’s how passionate I am about helping my community and those in recovery. Upper management spends 99% of their time away from guests. In the past 3 months half of our staff has quit or been fired due to the toxic environment that exists within The Cumberland County Crisis Facility. It is incredibly sad to know that the ONE resource my home county has is this one. Employees, management, supervisors, nurses and even other recovery coaches(I’d say more than half of the recovery coaches) pick and choose who they genuinely want to help. Regardless of the crisis and the rules and guidelines RI requires us to follow. The best way I could explain my experience here is that I very desperately wish the CEO would do an episode of undercover boss for even 1 or 2 days. The whole place would be closed. I say that specifically because, oh boy does everyone there have a way of putting on a professional facade when someone of authority is nearby. Please don’t do this to yourself. If you have a passion for helping others. Actually, if you’re just a decent human being. Do not apply here.
