Pros

decent pay and close to home

Cons

Management does not care about the safety of the staff, and thus, staff often get hurt. They are not supportive and have the general attitude that getting hurt is part of the job. They place unrealistic expectations upon you and when they are not met, blame (instead of problem solving) is the answer. The staff with whom I worked had a lot of racial tension and they did not like white people, and they often played favorites. Different standards of rules applied for the African-American staff and the whites. I do not know about all of RI, I only know of the Ellendale Delaware site. I am fortunate that I now have had a career in a wonderful, supportive, caring and professional hospital where ethics and values are extremely evident.

Pros

Training - plenty and relevant , most of the staff used the companies original ideas the company was founded on, we could make a big difference in the lives of people suffering mental health and/or life crisis. Staff worked together to make the environment pleasant and productive for the people that were being served.

Cons

Major change in policy and upper management that destroyed the premise the company was founded on. Staff shortage and bullying of staff by other staff members and upper management, exodus of good employees leaving untrained and even more understaffing causing a dangerous situation for people that were coming there for help. Accepting way too many clients with problems way over the scope of expertise of the staff. Refusal to hire necessary trained and licensed staff making it ethically, morally and physically a dangerous place to be as a staff member or a person in crisis there to be served.
