Pros

- good salary with respect to the job market - lots of support tools and resources for teaching - ok medical benefits

Cons

- ideology of students as "clients" and professors as "customer service providers" seriously affect the stand and respect for faculty - few minority faculty make it throught he system; hiring numbers are up but tenure and retention are low -intense quarter system,...plus some times different course sections (with different course number) are assigned to the same classroom, so the faculty ends up teaching more sections than originally planned

Pros

Love being able to work out at lunch time. Enjoy the discounted exercise classes. Can take undergraduate classes for free. Free tuition for my children after 5 years

Cons

Not working with cutting edge technology in my position. The salary could be higher. I share an office, there is not enough space in my area for everyone to have their own office.

Pros

The pleasant students, faculty, and staff make it a joy to come to work.

Cons

There have been a significant amount of budgetary cut-backs across the RIT campus. Although we are a university that brings our students to the "cutting-edge" of technology, some our administrative practices are out of date and require a significant amount of paper.
