Pros

Consistent advising practices across campus. Floating advisor was available to fill in the gaps and help train new advisors. Easy to advise students on major changes. Felt less silohed than other university advising communities. Regular campus-wide advising meetings and trainings. Faculty took a lot of responsibility for student success and advising as well (faculty advisors, active department heads, strong early alert system, academic department active during orientation and registration). Good university culture (friendly staff, helpful staff, collaborative).

Cons

Limited control at the college level (deadlines, policies, etc.). Some inequitable practices, including caseloads among advisors within a college. Not as diverse among staff and faculty. Some presidential goals seem to potentially decrease student diversity in the future
