Pros

Great culture that truly values their employees. Bonuses and ESOP are more generous than I've seen at other carriers. Senior management is approachable and people are very nice.

Cons

Flat organization makes it tough to advance career wise, past a certain level.

Pros

RLI rewards its employees for their contribution to the long standing profitable results of the company through a great bonus program and ESOP. The company gives great flexibility to create a work schedule that works with your lifestyle as long as you maintain the high performance expected of RLI employees. The collaboration and information sharing amongst employees within each products stands out compared to other insurance carriers.

Cons

The lack of underwriting experience of the c-suite is clearly evident in how the home office operates. RLI is a smaller company with less management opportunities for employees.

Compensation benefits outside of salary are superior. Cash bonuses, ESOP and 401(k) contributions are just excellent.

Cons

Not much that any company of this size doesn't typically experience.
