Pros

Senior leadership understand that the greatest company asset is the employees. I didn't know I was just a number at my prior company until I came to RLI and knew that no one is just a number here. There's no top-down approach. All ideas are welcomed. RLI has great compensation with benefits that lead the pack in the insurance industry. RLI wants to see you succeed. They pay for additional certifications or designations you wish to pursue and give a bonus for successful completion.

Cons

Because of the ownership mentality and having a stake in the success of the company, the pressure to do well can be high.

Over my 20+ years at RLI, I've seen people leave...and then some come back...because the grass is not always greener elsewhere. If you work hard, it will be noticed and you will be rewarded. Many of my fellow reviewers have said RLI is not for everyone, and this is true. But if you value top pay, bonuses, benefits, culture, and development opportunities, the grass does not get much greener than RLI.

Cons

Every workplace has its cons. You either choose to be happy or you don't and then you move on.
