A great company looking backwards instead of going forwards

Pros

Pockets of strong skills and good people. A genuine desire in some areas to drive positive change and modernisation

Cons

The company is dominated by white middle aged salesmen who only listen to white middle aged salesmen. New ideas are paid lipservice as are ideas of inclusivity and diversity. However when it all comes to a head they choose the old paths and the same mistakes. Credit is shared with the cabal of closed minds and any down turn is thrown at the innovators. Good leaders have been pushed out and the middle management layer that has been pushing for change is marginalised or already out the door. The final nail is seeing succesful modern marketeers put in business units reporting to people who still think the catalogue is king.

Pros

Work-life balance, competitive pay, good office location.

Cons

Too much apple-polishers, encourage obsequious behaviour. Talk a lot but not actually communicate. Lack of digital capability. Not accepting/offering constructive criticism.

Pros

As children, we grew up with big ideas and active imaginations that led us to think we could do anything we wanted. We were inspired by the world around us and driven by a belief that anything was possible.

Cons

As employees of RS Components, we realised big ideas, active imaginations and hard work were not enough. We were disparaged by our managers around us and driven by belief that at any moment we would lose our jobs.
