Pros

The salary is satisfactory. Most colleagues are positive and results-oriented. Some members of top management are pleasant to work with - they are sincere, positive and respectful in their interaction with staff.

Cons

HR personnel lack exposure to best practices, are not seen on the ground sufficiently, and need improvement in active, empathetic listening. HR framework/ people strategy does not appear strong and robust - some fundamental processes, e-systems and policies for recruitment, performance management, retention, development, promotions, and employee transactions are not in place. Policies and processes, if they exist, are not well communicated - lack of transparency. Development/training programmes, especially for non-managers/ non-executive, are far and few. Some managers lack experience, exposure, skills and tools for effective staff development, engagement and communication, and performance/career management. I had zero feedback on my performance and there was no conversation over my training needs, KPI and role profile (there was no profile). IT infrastructure frustrates staff's daily work experience. Laptops are not upgraded, and new sets tend to malfunction. Not all computers have the same Office & Outlook versions, which affects efficient working. There's a lack of speed in server/network. Help Desk personnel (internal and outsourced) is understaffed and lack the expertise for time-efficient trouble-shooting. No process for writing-off/taking back old laptops - no apparent tracking of assets. Lack of solid guidelines, processes and templates from Finance for budget planning and expense tracking. Employees are asked to do work that are unrelated to their experience, expertise, roles/KPIs. Lack integration/alignment between Group, Regional and local operations. Senior management is not media savvy.
