Pros

Smart colleagues, sense of community, people passionate about mission, decent benefits

Cons

Undervalue and discriminate against young talent, low ball salary (under the guise of being a nonprofit, and despite having highest revenues ever), low brand name recognition, contradicting communication about work environment. RTI created a new open, collaborative work environment but I was not allowed to leave my desk to use it, some people on the team could wfh everyday while others could not, etc. To my fellow college grads, know the management style you want to work with before committing to a job.

Pros

Good pay. Interesting studies. Nice facility.

Cons

Good relationships can be built but it can become "high school like," catty and petty with the highly female dominated work environment. The projects can be interesting but the work environment is not. It is very "stiff" and strict with very few incentives to work there...accept the paycheck.

Pros

Flexible schedules optimal for work-life balance. Pockets of great managers and co-workers who are genuine. RTI has and continues its mission of improving the human condition worldwide.

Cons

Lack of diversity in management positions (supervisor to Executive levels). Gender and racial bias overtones are often tolerated. "Toeing the company line" is rewarded to a fault. Job descriptions, career paths, and the required professional development are rarely defined.
