Pros

Flexible time off. Not much penalty for doing a mediocre job. (see corresponding comment below) There is not much change either good or bad. The job that you need to do to get a good review is pretty well defined. The people are normal, descent people.

Cons

Not much reward for doing a great job. (see corresponding comment above) I find it very boring. It seems to be impossible to get a promotion unless you are a member of the chosen few. It's not based on your actual performance, more on how much people like you. It just kind of stays the same and as long as nothing rocks the boat. Alot of teh technology is pretty outdated and will make you less valuable in the marketplace.

Pros

Nice work environment, good people, and surprisingly good lower/middle mgmt. in some areas. Its a nice place to work if you prefer to stay in the comfort zone and want a flexible 9-5 job.

Cons

Too much dead weight at top and bottom labor grades. Too many people at the middle experience level ( 5-10)leaving the company because of lack of opportunities. Also, the division has lost its technology focus and is slowly becoming an IT job shop.

Pros

Direct management (i.e. the folks I really work for) is excellent. Pay is competitive, and work/life balance is excellent. The flexible work schedule, when workload allows, is very beneficial. My experience has been that the company works hard to place employees between contracts.

Cons

It can be stressful when the project you're working on ends, depending on what new contracts are being awarded. Emphasis on Six Sigma is annoying. Benefits are not what they were when I first joined the company.
