Pros

Job security, you can tranfer to many other location and they paid for grad school. they also have a really good six sigma program which looks great on your resume. the big name company helped with interviewing for other jobs. most of the young engineers started there and moved on to other positions or other plants within the company for higher salaries and positions.

Cons

not too many downsides, probably it's a larger company so you don't get to meet the higher ups. Also for them to pay for grad school you have to get a degree in something that directly relates to you field which limits you to what you can go to school with. with it being a large com

Pros

Solid benefits package, pride in supporting our Nation's military. Raytheon has a good reputation in the Defense industry as an employer. Some benefits of working for larger Raytheon business units trickle down to smaller locations such as Indianapolis. Work life balance is very good.

Cons

Highly political environment, top heavy management structure means little chance for advancement. Job descriptions provided during hiring process are grossly exaggerated in terms of responsibility and challenge offered. I was lied to about crucial career decisions and opportunities several times during my time at RTSC Indy. Leadership there will tell you anything to get you on board, but once you are there it is a different story - must be the bait and switch capital of the corporation. I kept expecting to bump into The Smoking Man at any moment and have him remind me to "trust no one..."

Pros

It takes forever to get hired there because of security concerns, etc. but when you get hired you have a job for life (if you want it). Benefits are good - they still offer a real pension plan (how unusual!). They provide wonderful products to keep our country and servicemen and women safe. It makes you proud to be doing your part for America.

Cons

Executive management (for the most part) has HUGE egos, which I guess is common for most executives. They like to take credit for other people's work and when their employees do the work they requested - and it wasn't what their superiors wanted or negative feedback is received - they're real quick to pass the buck and do whatever they have to do to CYA
