Pros

Good working environment if you don't think too much. Very nice people to talk to, although hard to fit in unless you leave time daily to socialise, so don;t care too much about your actual job. Good work life balance, flexible hours. Generous holiday allowance and sick pay. Quite tolerat envivironment. Parent company has high and comendable ideals of conduct and if you need to rely on those you definetely can, they do involve being able to stand up for a colleague in a situation you feel is unfair, so there is no chance of workplace bullying.

Cons

HR and any central function like IT, Legal or Finance work in a completely different timeline than the industry, so be prepared to give more than you take or face stress, regardless of that you will have to chase continuosly to get results and colleagues will completely forget about requests made, they take no ownership of responsibility for requirements from their area that solely rely on them. Promotions are more relationship based than about performance, so you do bump into completely unqualified managers and employees a bit more often than usual in an organisation of that size. There are of course, magnificent managers as well, but really it comes down to luck. Pay is completely uneven as well, you're not provided with a salary range and it really feels like you're haggling in a flea market to then have to compromise on what you can survive on rather than what you deserve when compared to the market. In this they prefer to pay more for outside talent as they really bank on how good you feel on the day to day and benefits are still uneven for people that have been there for a long time, to cut down on costs if you have a chance on being promoted you're not offered a new contract, just an offer letter with new job title and wages, this way "legacy people" don't get updated benefits like health care, so you are treated like a piece of furniture.

The most toxic work environment

Pros

The only good thing about Reed is the amount of PTO offered (good luck trying to find a time to use it though), 401k match (have to be at the company for 3 years to get), and summer Fridays (which will probably be cut back due to an influx of events taking place in the later half of 2021 due to Covid-19).

Cons

Here are just a few: Toxic work environment with “mean girl” attitude, POOR compensation for amount of work required, long hours (expected to work overtime with no overtime for manager/director level - especially closer to events), grueling onsite work days at events — marketing expected to handle most tasks, upper management stuck in old ways; little room for suggestions and new ideas. Little room for growth unless someone leaves the company and a position opens up.
