Pros

Raft is growing quickly and truly attempts to hire the best talent. Raft is engineering first and engineers typically make more than managers. Benefits are great. Medical, dental, and vision premiums and deductibles are covered and there is a small annual bonus for tech gadgets, etc. They give you a buddy to help new employees integrate and seem to always be looking for ways to improve the work culture. Bonuses for referrals and conference involvement.

Cons

Employees can become isolated within their projects if they don't volunteer to participate in other projects or cultural activities. Annual raises are low and average 0-3% with little, if any bonus. Upper level annual salary increases go up to 5% with $5k bonus for top performers. The emphasis on work culture seems disingenuous at times and promotion potential is limited. No equity or profit sharing. The company is willing to take all the effort you are willing to give but perhaps without influence on your pay.

Thank you for sharing your feedback about your experience at Raft. We appreciate your positive remarks about our rapid growth and efforts to hire top talent. It's great to hear that you find our benefits package comprehensive and that we offer bonuses for tech gadgets, referrals, and conference involvement. We also value your mention of the buddy system for new employees and our continuous focus on improving the work culture. We understand the importance of avoiding isolation within projects and the need for collaboration and connection among Rafters. That's why we encourage all Rafters to actively participate in various opportunities, such as our Guilds and monthly brown bag sessions, to foster collaboration, build connections, and enhance the overall Raft experience. Regarding compensation, we appreciate your insights and understand the importance of providing competitive compensation for our strong performers. We will take your feedback into consideration as we evaluate our compensation structure. Thank you for your dedication and valuable contributions to our team. We value your feedback and will continue working to create an environment where top talent thrives.

Thank you for sharing your feedback on your experience at Raft. We would like to address some of the points you raised in your review. We find it concerning that you did not list any Pros for working at Raft, especially considering that you have been with the company for over three years. If you genuinely are a current manager, and not a competitor frustrated by our success, you play a crucial role in driving Raft's fantastic culture and competitive market pay. We would also like to clarify that Raft is committed to ethical behavior in all of our business practices, including our relationships with partners. We believe in treating our partners fairly and respectfully, as we know that building long-lasting partnerships are essential to our continued success. Your allegation that we engage in unethical behavior is unfounded, and we believe it may be coming from a competitor rather than a current employee. At Raft, we are proud of our achievements as a woman-owned business, and we believe that sharing our successes is an essential part of inspiring future growth and success. We are disappointed that you have alleged that our LinkedIn posts are an attempt to "sell the company," rather than to highlight our accomplishments and share our journey with Raft’s customers, partners, and community. Finally, we take pride in our cultural value of transparency and will always walk the talk. We encourage all prospective Rafters to speak with current Rafters to better understand what it's truly like to work at Raft.
