YLG - High Turn Over

Pros

Fellow employees. Small enough company that you get to know your co-workers well. Office location in Beverly MA, where cost of living is fairly affordable.

Cons

Pay scale is not in line with other Tour Operators for the same positions. No sense of loyalty from the CEO/ Owner of the company for all the hard work you put in to make the company profitable. High turn over in key positions within the organization. Major burn-out among employees as too much is expected from them.

Pros

Learning about amazing destinations! The salary was appealing. Made some nice friends (coworkers).

Cons

Rushed training, unorganized staffing, unrealistic goals (which I was unaware of), schedule change often, breaks and start time change without a bit of notice, friendly co-workers…but unable to get to know them at all. Cold environment! Left daily with so much stress and tension. Work life balance is obsolete. I was unaware I was forced to sell at the capacity in which we were made to. They expect you to be a jack of all trades (with little training) and master Of none. Even heard a manger say they group hire knowing they will whittle them down before 30 days on the floor. Asked for additional help and training and they said it wasn’t possible because there weren’t enough trainers. A bit a gut punch….but this is my opinion. I feel really bad for those who are leaving current employment for RB knowing the turnover rate is horrific. My class of 26 dwindled down to 8 in 30 days. I hope RB can do some internal adjustments, because this company and product could be an amazing opportunity. However their training department and systems are seriously lacking.

Pros

Not many...some of the people are nice and genuine but for the most part they are egotistical, not very helpful especially in sales because people are constantly trying to steal each other’s sales, and just overall not very good at their position . The product is cool too.

Cons

Way too many: •the amount of turnover •if money is a priority to you I highly suggest looking elsewhere. You can literally make as much working at a fast food chain or Walmart. I also did not receive my revenue bonus because it is paid out yearly as opposed to monthly which I’ve never heard of before. •management is just sad which the exception of one of my male Managers who actually was very helpful and good at what he does (makes me wonder why he works at this company with his skill set) •treat employees like children and very strict about taking breaks which many of us found necessary since you’re just sitting on a phone the whole time and lunch break is 30 minutes long which gives you enough time to do nothing AND you have an assigned lunch time lol •I could keep going but that’s enough

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your review about your experience with YLG. Our Inside Sales team, with whom you previously worked, is a very fast-paced department and we recognize that it may not be the best environment or fit for everyone. Each and every client is very important to us, and we must be available to assist them in a timely manner when they contact us to book a vacation, ask questions, or resolve a complaint. Our clients are the cornerstone of our business. For that reason, it is essential that we coordinate with our staff to ensure that breaks and lunches are taken accordingly. If you’ve ever had a customer experience where no one was available to assist you, I’m sure you can appreciate what we hope to avoid. It also appears that you may have misinterpreted the pay structure and compensation for your sales, so I would just like to clarify this. Every month, agents are paid commission in addition to their basic pay. In fact, most agents collect about two-thirds of all commissions during the course of the year with the remainder paid at the end. Each month, exceptional sales agents are also eligible for kickers above their basic commissions. Again, thank you very much for your review. I welcome you to contact myself directly for any further clarification. Ashlee Pekar Inside Sales Supervisor 1-800-268-7252 ext. 1181
