Pros
There are no pros given the overwhelming set of negatives. Rain Bird ruins lives.
Cons
Read and re-read the reviews found here. I will not rehash. Too painful. Were time no issue, I would share all the details but you need no further warning. A single review is one thing but when all reviews are overtly negative, your reference point is bankable. Do not ever work here. I am only revisiting months later in the hopes I can ward off any unsuspecting prospective. Why? Just note how all reviews seemingly say the say thing...antiquated culture, forced ranking, adversarial, sexist, etc? All true. Look, if your life is great and you need a downgrade, come to Rain Bird. Not only will it overwhelmingly -- and negatively -- impact you on a professional level, it will hurt your personally too. The bad is so hard to set aside on the home front, FYI. Numerous ex-employees I speak to suffer from Rain Bird PTSD. And so do their partners. Yes...that is a thing. Summary: "Atrocious management practiced here"...seems a generous statement given my time at the company. Entire departments move on a whim. Move = fired. "Oh, did you just move your entire family from a foreign country for this role...?" Doesn't matter. For no real or justified reason you will find out within 3 months whether you're "Rain Bird" material or not. Don't worry, I'll save you the surprise, you're not....unless you're a weasel with no moral or ethical compass. The "in crowd" is especially set on destroying new capable talent should a fear of supplanting exist. Don't try and stand out. Note: The company is still run like it is the 1980's with very few women present and if they're there, they're smarter than you because they've double the duty to justify their existence. Not kidding. So impressive. Sad white walls and cubicles await and provide very little solace as to why you traded your happiness for the sad hell that exists at Rain Bird. I hated my time there. I personally oversaw significant realized success (sales/market share) and never once felt safe. Takeaway: You will not retire at Rain Bird. They will pay you excessively to get you to Tucson and then abandon you. Talk about lonely. No other jobs exist in Tucson at your pay grade, trust me. You're stuck. I saw more pedigreed studs show up and ship out unceremoniously than I can count. Run. Run. Run.
