Too much focus on headcount, focus should be on eliminating waste in other notorious areas, such as scrap and transportation.

Worldwide industry leader with the most comprehensive and complete product range in the irrigation market. Best quality and innovative products. Great company to grow with, if you follow and understand the company's internal policies. Impressive learning culture and unlimited opportunities to learn and continue education. Some of the best and most talented professionals in the industry, with unmatched experience and with an incredible market and customer knowledge. Great salary and bonus package offered.

Cons

Extreme top management control. Ridiculous amount of weekly, monthly and annual internal reports, that make it difficult to conduct everyday business. Due to the size of the company and the number of employees at Rain Bird, the company has had to implement unpopular internal policies. Overall most employees are very un satisfied with working conditions and management style.

Great co-workers, good pay, good working conditions, a lot of autonomy, performance oriented, results count

Cons

Jack Welch's "Raising the Bar" philosophy of improving staff quality by placing the worst (how subjective can this be) performing 20% in corrective action continually is archaic. It would be much more productive to fire the hiring managers that hire weak perfomers. HR has been effectively shut down by an engineering approach to staff management, and they know it. Rather sad really as there are truly great people going through the revolving door of employment.
