Pros

Hybrid & 100% remote options for certain roles. High pay, little oversight Cons. The previous CEO passed away.

Cons

Someone else posted this, but it's so true. This company pays really well because the turnover is so high that it's the only way they'll bring is fresh bodies. They continue to use a "Rank & Yank" system to lay people off. There's 2 yearly new hire orientations every year because they hire and fire so many people. Leadership at the top of Rain Bird is weak & horrendous. At the slightest sign of economic slowdown all they know how to do is lay people off. They pride themselves on hiring the "best & brightest" folks with top notch degrees from top universities but they can't ever seem to come up with ways to prevent layoffs and ride out slow downs. Management doesn't ever take the hit themselves. They want people at the bottom to take it for them. Those aren't leaders. Those are cowards. Management doesn't mentor you or guide you in the right direction. They expect you to figure it all out on your own. Trying to get guidance at Rain Bird just makes management think you're incompetent. Management will start isolating you from projects and you'll slowly be kept out of the loop on things. That's about the time you should start looking for another job because they will eventually lay you off. The bonus structure here is also a disaster. It's structured so that some of your yearly goals are dependent on other peoples projects. Projects you won't ever get involved with. So if those projects don't meet the goals, you take a hit for it. They'll throw out these pie in the sky numbers to lure you into the door but you likely will only ever see 50-70% of the nominal bonus. They're obsessed with meetings to the point that it's obnoxious & hinders work progress. This company will gladly spend 2/3 of their work week in meetings but than push employees to finish projects within the deadline. I must have wasted over 5 hours in meetings a week on average. Rain Bird is weirdly paranoid about letting employees take photos of products or machines in their facilities. They're afraid that they're processes are going to make it to their competitors but yet they have no issues laying people off like they're rats. With the massive amount of people they layoff all the time I'm sure former employees go to competitors and tell them how Rain Bird is making things anyways. Rain Bird, you're not making state of the art military weapons. Ease up. In summary, agreeing to work for Rain Bird is like signing a deal with the devil. It may look very attractive and they'll lure you with lots of money and benefits on paper but you'll have to give your soul to them. At the end of the day, they don't give 2 rips about you. They only protect the very few people who have been there forever and those people won't protect you or help you.
