Pros

Decent pay, lots of intelligent people, comfortable office, interesting products. An impressive amount of diversity.

Cons

Certain sectors are ran by managers that do not care for their employees well being, Many will demand in excess and infer the necessity, and then gaslight you for voicing your frustration of working conditions and heightened expectations. HR protects the company and nothing more.

Pros

Pay is half decent but at a cost.

Cons

I worked in the Tucson pump factory for almost 3 years. I have never in my entire life worked somewhere less welcoming. Massive employee turnover, Management was too anemic to ask employees something as simple as not to talk during morning meetings while information is being disseminated. Many of my coworkers were extremely loud and obnoxious foreign work visa recipients. Many could not speak any English even after being in US for years. I needed a translator to coordinate equipment moves or make warehouse requests etc. Welding and fabrication area was very tight and cramped. You had to use overhead crane to move large items and was nerve wracking because you had to stand too close to items being moved and warn people out of the way because of the lack of space. There was a poorly maintained sand blast chamber in the factory that leaked and rained dust on every surface. I believe this was making me and other coworkers sick, coughing, irritated eyes and mouth lesions etc. I acquired a cough that got worse the longer I worked there. I researched Osha standards on blasting chambers and found the Tucson facility to be operating completely out of OSHA guideline best practices. If you currently work at this facility, you may have noticed the grey dust that acclimates on every surface. You are breathing that! Blast chambers aren't supposed to leak dust and have blast media laying on the floor all around it. You can anonymously file OSHA complaints online to get this issue brought to light,

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are disappointed to hear that your experience did not reflect the workplace culture we strive to create. Rain Bird employs individuals from a variety of backgrounds and experiences, and we are proud of the diverse workforce that contributes to our success. We expect all employees to treat one another with professionalism and respect. We also take employee safety seriously. While we respectfully disagree with the characterization of our facility and safety practices, we encourage employees to raise concerns through established reporting channels so they can be thoroughly reviewed and addressed. Maintaining a safe workplace and complying with applicable safety requirements remain top priorities.
