Pros

- Mission - Colleagues that are really committed and passionate about what they do and that could really contribute to real change if allowed - Good pay for NGOs - Good exposure to different stakeholders - Incredibly talented field staff, who makes our work possible

Cons

- As others noted below, there is a serious problem of cultural clash between the two mentalities of pre merger and the two dominant cultures in the "main" offices: American and Dutch. - Dutch office is lacking diversity and also willingness to understand how diversity can improve the work we do. To give you a sense of the tangible results the D&I program is having, a Senior Manager was confidently saying to several colleagues that "sustainability is skewing White" while as an organization we work primarily with the Global South and Climate Change is primarily affecting BIPOC individuals everywhere. - The recent restructuring left several Departments unhappy as it was decided top-down with no real inputs of people actually doing the job. The result in the past months has been to see several departures from the organizations. - There have been several cases of bullying and preventing career progressions and there seems to be a problem towards individuals that are willing to speak up on certain issues. If you agree with Senior Management you will be just fine. If you don't, good luck, as it is very hierarchical.
