Pros

I have worked at Randa Accessories for 5 years and have had the opportunity to learn sales and planning for all commodities and multiple customers. I've learned so much in this role.

Cons

The hours can be long and work is very stressful but you learn to manage your time and stress. I have a good manager which helps tremendously.

Pros

People in other departments and teams outside of mine were always kind and friendly and made my days bearable. On the rare occasions food was ordered, usually others outside of the meeting were welcome to the scraps. Company goes all out for Christmas parties and other Holidays to feign a loving community. Centrally located to many eateries and attractions in NYC.

Cons

Steer Clear Unless You're Willing to Sacrifice Life, Limb and Mental Health for the Pennies!! I was professionally bullied here by upper management and the colleagues I worked closest with. A comment my manager and colleague had made in front of my face was about how "young people expect a round of applause for everything they do. Like congratulations, you did your job." My work was called "stupid" in front of others, fists were slammed on desks in front of my face and my manager attempted to throw me under the bus for a mistake *they* had made. I was sure to correct them loud enough that their boss (who was obviously was listening through the very thin walls between their offices) could hear as well. Management micromanages; I had known my own manager to constantly check peoples' availability statuses and make comments to others if they had been away from their desks for longer than 10 minutes. Super catty environment. VERY few POC representation in Upper-Level Management positions. I was made to believe this long-standing company had taken on the mentality of a start-up when in fact, it is very parochial and corporate. At my interview, my manager swore up and down that they would take the time to personally train me; I spent my first 2 weeks reading an outdated manual for a system I never ended up using. The expectation was for me to work in the position as if I had been doing the job for 5+ years, when in truth, I was just starting my professional career. I had once stayed past 9pm doing a team member's work (not my choice) and my manager never offered to purchase dinner for our small team (less than five) or recommended taking a break to refuel. The next day, I had a medical appointment in the latter half of the day and was told to deduct the hours from my PTO. I did no such thing! The expectation here is to be an all-knowing cyborg that never requires a human moment. Quite simply, I was a sucker.

Pros

The positives at Randa is you get exposure to major brands and retailers.

Cons

There is NO middle management , that should be a red flag........Only young entry level employees and senior management. Also not a family friendly company, no work/life balance. Witnessed some unsavory behavior at corporate meetings, overall not an environment to work in long term.
