RapidScale lacks qualified people in C-Level management positions to function properly and prosper as a business. The corporate office environment is often hostile, draining, and mundane all at the same time. There are few individuals who work at the corporate location who sincerely enjoy working at this company...most people bond over the shared disdain for daily work responsibilities and micromanagement. Expect that your attendance will be tracked to the minute - you will be questioned and lectured if you come in at 8 and leave at 5. All salaried positions are expected to work "overtime" without proper compensation. Very poor work/life balance, especially in respect to family issues and child care. Working remotely is a bit easier because of poor management skills, and often times remote sales positions are not held to the same standards as other positions in the company. If you are remote, expect that you will be traveling - A LOT - at least once a week for multiple days at a time.
If you come from a corporate environment, you will quickly find that there are few valuable resources for you to succeed. No 401k match, terrible benefits and benefit management, no HR department to handle internal issues and new hire procedures to list a few. The handbook looks like something that was printed offline or taken from another company and not tailored to the RapidScale specifically - which will make you feel uneasy almost immediately.
Take extreme caution when accepting a position at this company. Turnover is high, and you are at the mercy of your manager, and how they may be feeling that day. Little to no positive or negative feedback on your performance, and you will have to chase down any bonus or commission that was promised to you. As an older male working for this company, I really felt bad for the young adults and women working here. They were treated poorly and were rarely given opportunities beyond administrative work. Their compensation is inadequate in comparison to that of their male counterparts.
Beware of the "positive" reviews on this site - employees are compensated for positive reviews, and many are written by upper management in an attempt to cover up any "negative" review that may be posted.
