Pros

The product is unbelievably good and improving all the time thanks to a strong development team that keeps their ears open to the users and internal feedback. Very relaxed working environment; management values a healthy work-life balance. Good opportunities for professional growth - this was my first job out of college and was promoted within a year.

Cons

Small company with multiple offices overseas and relatively small HQ headcount. There's been an ongoing struggle between keeping the open-source user community happy and monetizing the product - this balance has yet to be perfected and has been the impetus for significant changes in the past.

Thanks for your feedback and dedication to the success of our customers. Your comment about education for new users is spot on. We have recently opened up our workshop program to more users, but there's more we can do here.

Pros

A very mature and sophisticated product for current market needs, A very well known and respected brand in Advanced Analytics Space. Rapidly evolving and improving product and sales strategy

Cons

Its a growing company and has had its shares of ups and down. With quite few changes and some folks around not carrying their own weight in the past sometimes was frustrating

Pros

Good technology with Machine Learning, text mining, Hadoop support, lots of algorithms and data prep components. Beware that there are many competitors out there now who propose similar things.

Cons

The management have no idea on how to approach the market, build and stick to a coherent sales strategy, build the channel, price the product (the price changes all the time), keep the expenses under control. They recruit and get rid of people across-the-board based on a the latest sales strategy because the previous one failed. I have never seen so many people walk out without giving a notice. Lots of VPs and directors with no one or 1-2 people reporting to them.

Thanks for the feedback, and you spot on with your observation that we need to stick to a sales strategy. As you know, we had to make some tough decisions in the past 12 months as we evolved our sales model. We've made great progress in all of the areas you identified, but I certainly appreciate that it was a tough transition for many.
