Pros

Convenient office location. Styvesant Plaza is a short walk away which makes lunchtime and coffee breaks easier.

Cons

Terrible environment. Management is not trustworthy. Horrible decisions are made without any input but then management doesn't handle it well when those decisions result in poor outcomes.

Pros

The development team is about 10 members and everyone works well together. Being a smaller company, as a developer you'll have the opportunity to work on the entire stack, from frontend to backend work. You won't feel pigeon holed into one small part of the applications. With that comes responsibility, but it's a great way to learn. The tech stack has also been modernized, so you'll be able to work with some cool stuff like Angularjs and Spring Boot. The company has recently been trying to improve employee benefits and perks, so we have bagels ordered for the office weekly, there is a non-alcoholic drink fridge which is always stocked, and we have company lunch-ins and outings quarterly. Good location as well—right off the highway; nice lunch spots around. Good work/life balance. There is a support on-call rotation divvied among the team.

Cons

Sometimes unrealistic goals and deadlines are set, but I think this is endemic with smaller companies. Not to say the development team receives flack for this, but it's something that can weigh on your conscience.
