Pros

Some truly great people, at least until the Morgan Keegan merger. Very collegial. Also, they treat their retail brokers very well, according to most of them.

Cons

As for anyone else, it's a crap shoot, and has more to do with how much you suck up to whoever happens to be in ascendancy at the moment. The most pathetic parody of a power system I've ever seen, and I've been on the Street for 20 years. The Morgan Keegan merger killed the last good thing that ever existed at RJ.

Pros

Great training and better pay structure than some other firms. Pay for your travel and stay when traveling for training. Knowledgeable secretaries.

Cons

Poor Management as far as guiding new Financial Advisors with building book of business and finding new clients. All advisors there had already been very established. No one to get help from as far as effectively finding new clients.

Pros

I got a paycheck.

Cons

The "service first" environment is non-existent, as smaller clients are put on a shelf. Development of employees lacks any substantial movement. Paul Riley is Tom James' puppet, and it flows down from there.
