-the higher pay can put you in "golden handcuffs" if you want to move out -administrative and organization strength is minimal. RMD can hit a bullet with another bullet in space but they can't get you a seat, keep teams in the same area, or maintain standardization within or between projects. -you can definitely feel like a number. The administration can forget about you and place you on "waiting assignment" anywhere between days or months. -you can easily promote but quality of life with higher positions drastically declines. Good for early or late career. Middle management gets slammed and tends to work very long hours under high stress. -high turnover, but that seems to be standard in the industry at large

Upper management is committed to buzzwords and virtue signaling. 25% of promotions are based on sex or minority status. Productivity is low as processes as ponderous. No one has the guts to change the processes. Management does not like bad news, so telling the truth about failures, bad decisions, etc... brings about bad yearly review. Don't cross anyone that claims "victim status" based on sexual preference, race or anything else. Even when proof is shown of their unprofessional conduct they are given a pass. Projects run over by years and huge sums of money, yet the management is not held accountable. Schedules, milestones, etc... are fiction that are never meet.
