Remote Learning

Pros

The network was very proactive when offering resources for their scholars when the schools first closed. They provided several families with Chromebooks to ensure student learning and engagement occurred at home. Teachers and staff actively communicated with families daily to share information or strategies to help with student engagement from home. Throughout the pandemic, ReGeneration Schools have been dedicated to servicing our scholars and families as we transition into remote learning.

Cons

Co-teachers available for K and 1st grade classrooms, but only one teacher for 3rd and 4th grade classrooms.

Pros

great benefits, universal classroom management styles and teaching make it predictable for students.

Cons

no autonomy, impossible workload, days are too long, no books and printers are always jammed or broken, micromanaging, if you don't fit the mission, you will be pushed out, students are treated like they are training to be in a prison, self expression is not accepted - students or teachers.

Pros

-Scholars are challenged by the curriculum -Scholars are generally diligent, well-behaved, and persevere with challenges -Data-driven instruction -Good parent involvement -Some uplifting/positive aspects of culture like the Virtue Point system and shout-outs -Fun events for kids to look forward to if they're on their best behavior -Good benefits and salary -Many teachers and office staff really care about the kids -Excellent COO, Dean, and (former) elementary level Principal at Avalon Park

Cons

-Very strict environment -Runs like military school, lots of yelling -Higher workload than other schools due to exemplar lesson planning style, classroom management deduction system, extra assignments -Large focus on test scores -Teaching to the test can get in the way of the good curriculum -Deduction system is excessive and has some arbitrary rules -Certain parents get ignored when they express concerns -Some teachers/principals say harsh things like "shut your mouth" and "where is your brain?", threaten, or make sarcastic comments to kids -Double standards -Some bullying and other problematic student behaviors not taken seriously -No surveillance cameras inside school -CEO does not value feedback even from professionals who come to observe
