Pros

Good place for entry level employment

Cons

Underwriting management is extremely toxic and not to be trusted. They prefer to hire people with no insurance experience as a way to hold leverage over them but also to hide how little they know about the insurance industry.

Pros

I love a company that gives great benefits plus invests in your development. That used to be the norm, but now so many tech companies cut corners on building up their people with 401ks and continuous learning programs. What's more, I was coming from outside the industry and was given time to learn and catch up and ask questions. Not many other orgs, let alone in insurance, might do that. The culture of continuous innovation is for clients as well as employees. I've learned so much, work in a cute office, and genuinely love collaborating with my colleagues. Again--not many orgs, let alone in insurance, give you all that! Last pro is that the company is very much growing in the US and in the offices in China and India. (And I got to visit the offices in China!)

Cons

Many teams are remote, so tracking down the right folks can be tricky at times. But the company hosts 2 US Team Meetings a year to provide that valuable facetime, plus some opportunities to do other offsites with colleagues.
