Pros

I have been at W2O for over 6 years and from a personal standpoint, there is something to be said for working at a company that has your back. From the very beginning there has always been a sense that we are all in this together and that definitely holds true for those that work in human resources (HR). Just this past week I spoke with HR about my maternity leave and I'm not sure if you have ever grappled with that type of leave, but it's typically a rather painful conversation. Mine was the opposite. I left feeling as if I actually knew what I was talking about and the person took the time to actually explain it to me. Secondly, my family recently changed to W2O's insurance and some of the ultrasounds and tests that had been costing us $200 a service are now coming in at $25 each. That's a huge difference for us. Anyway, no company is perfect in the way it is run but those in HR at W2O should know that their work while sometimes thankless, does not go unnoticed.

Cons

Is the maternity leave policy the greatest one out there? No, I miss the days of the old policy quite frankly but at least the person really took the time to explain it to me and I left feeling armed with the right information.

Pros

W2O Group is a bit on an anomaly in the professional services agency world. Being an independent, privately held organization, the firm has a nimbleness and pace that you don't usually see in the holding company behemoths. The spirit of the culture is very entrepreneurial, with a strong start-up vibe of collaboration. Lots of whip smart people that have big ideas and are passionate about seeing them executed. The company motto of "go. ahead" embodies that opportunities that are available for people that are willing to roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty. This is not a place where checking boxes or delegation are seen as success. One of the things I like most about the firm is the transparency provided by leadership. Business results are openly shared and there are no secrets when it comes to expectations and feedback on performance.

Cons

There are times when the start up atmosphere can feel a bit chaotic. In addition, it's a place where you can easily lose your work/life balance if you are not being vigilant.
