Pros

Pay was fair for the Dallas market Healthcare benefits were not bad Carrollton location was good

Cons

I was excited to come to RealPage upon being recruited, and given the opportunity to perform in a brand new role within a new part of the company. However, in the short amount of time there, I went through several managers (for several months I had no leadership at all) and dealt with and witnessed some very disturbing behavior by senior leadership. Myself, and several other females I spoke with dealt with rampant sexual harassment and sexism. At one meeting, a very high level (C suite level) employee physically touched me, completely unsolicited (in case that needs to be made clear). Luckily he is no longer working there, however I don't believe it had anything to do with his gross behavior. They fired a previous employee for behavior that was so vile for so long, that everyone was stunned to see they recently rehired him with a huge increase in pay. From what I understand, he was fired on the floor because one of the decent people in senior leadership overheard him make a truly crude comment about another employees body. Never mind the long list of HR complaints for sexual harassment and xenophobia (made a terrible comment to a Muslim team member). Very, very sad to see the inside of how RealPage works, and terribly disappointed. It doesn't seem to make too much of a difference as they are still a successful company. If you are a female, I would look somewhere else until RealPage makes some big changes.

Thank you for your post. I appreciate and agree with you that we have the potential to hire and retain really great talent. It is something we strive to do every day. Based on your advice I discussed your comment that HR was not addressing abhorrent complaints with several HR Directors. They categorically said that was not the case. In fact they stated they take it very seriously. It should be pointed out that in the United States we have 10 Employee Relations Directors and Managers of which 8 of them are women and the only 2 men are both in South Carolina and your comments are not coming from there. I am clearly not saying that you did not witness or experience bad behavior, I am reacting based on my team's comments that they do take issues very seriously. The person you stated touched you has left the company. The other person you are mentioning was terminated on 5/12/15, almost three years ago . When I heard the comments that he made and confirmed we acted. After 1.5 years away from RealPage a manager asked to hire him back on the premise that he had changed his life around and that any further issue would be dealt him. Your notion we brought him back with a huge pay increase is not accurate. He came back in at lower level role without any "huge" pay increase. There have been no further incidents. In life sometimes people get a second chance, and when they do its really important that they act in a manner that is in the best interest of all. . By hiring him back it did not mean we condoned his actions, he had a 13 year track record of being a good employee. He is forever sorry for that bad day. For everyone reading this post we truly care about our work environment. I would like to share that all managers on a yearly basis are required to take and pass a class on sexual harassment, so this suggestion is in place. Finally, The highest scoring question on the most recent engagement survey with 4,482 responses was "I am treated with respect as an individual: 90% favorable, 6% neutral and 4% unfavorable. The third highest rated question was, "RealPage operates in an ethical manner: 87% favorable, 11% neutral and 3% unfavorable. These scores are much higher than the high performing company benchmarks, You certainly may have experienced bad behavior, and that is truly unfortunate, but it would be unfair to say that this is how we operate. These engagement scores do not reflect that at all. I sincerely hope you find a great working environment and that you never experience again what you stated above. If you or anyone associated with RealPage would like to discuss this topic please call me direct at 972-820-4016. All the best to you . Sincerely, Kurt Twining

Pros

Get paid on time, Group I work with. You would think there would be more, but honestly, there just isn't.

Cons

There is a list... 1. Management - Have you ever heard the term "Too many Chiefs, not enough Indians" RP is the perfect example. At one time there were 6 managers, over a department of 12 people. And 5 out of those 6 managers were clueless, ineffectual, and actually caused me mental anguish. 2. Insurance - The insurance is decent, if you are coming from having no insurance, from paying for your own insurance, or from a staffing agency with 4 people insurance. For a company that claims to care about employees, they carry insurance that a company half their size would not purchase. 3. Culture - When there is a person, high up in the chain of command of your company that has a title of Chief People Officer? That tells you the culture. They want you to think they are cool, and fun, and with the times, when they really just want to push you to your breaking point, squeeze the soul and fun out of your job, and make you produce to a plan they have concocted but don't know how to execute it. They also love to say that they respect their clients. They do not. I honestly feel for any client of RP that has been sold on "Personal Interaction" You will have a person assigned to you that will be your Account Manager, he will also have 5 other clients he is responsible for, but really, he is the smoke blower, he will have to have meetings with other departments to make sure you get what you need done, those departments will drop the ball, and he will apologize profusely, promise to fix it, and take an extra 2 - 3 weeks of your life. 4. Metrics - This of course is not new in the IT Industry by any means. However, when you cannot quantify a task in metrics, the management is so dependent on them, their brains collide in a calamity of constant numbers reports and futile repetitive questions. I could go on. And for the record, RealPage is a large company, so they must be doing something right, but they outsource to the Phillipines to save a dime over quality, they force good employees to other companies because they need to make a Billion by 2020. And honestly, if you have ever wanted to dislike a company like Exxon, BP, or Halliburton? You know, a company that does what it can to get ahead, regardless of who or what it tramples over while pretending to be the good guys? RealPage is your perfect candidate.

Thank you for your post. You have been here for 8 years and you are clearly unhappy. I could share with you that RealPage just got its engagement scores back and as a company we are currently tracking above the scores of Fortune Most Admired companies, but that is not the experience that you are feeling. I could tell you that not one question went in a negative direction. I could tell you that the top two categories above 80% favorable where culture and diversity. If you would like to see what is happening culturally you may want to go to the RealPage Portal and see how we are expanding in our communities and will be donating money to charities that make a difference. We are a very competitive company that does live by the RealPage Promise. Look, you are not happy. You deserve to be happy in the role that you play in whatever company you chose to join. Let me buy you a lunch if you are willing and lets explore this. Sincerely, Kurt Twining X4016

Pros

It used to have a great culture. In fact, I believe parts of it still do. In Richardson, they have a low rise and a high rise. I believe the high rise is a completely different environment. I hear the low rise building is great to work in. They always look like they're having fun.

Cons

In the tower at the Richardson office, it's a high stress environment. Managers pass the stress down the line. It's also recently become a fast turn over.

Thank you for your post. It's unfortunate that this did not work out for you. I am sending this on to Barry Carter our new leader of IT so he can take your comments and compare it to our recent engagement scores. RealPage still has great culture as the Company Engagement scores are at a all time hight and up 5% over last year. You noted that there was a 3% cap on promotions. That is just not the case at all, they are on average higher than that. We wish you well in your future endeavors. Sincerely, Kurt Twining
