Pros

Bar is low for software engineering, so as long as you do your job, they will keep you around. If you are any good at all, you will be handed a lot of responsibility and can learn a lot about a lot of different things over a short period of time.

Cons

As with any software company with a non-technical product, RealPage is run by non-technical people who think they understand how to build systems because they are in the C-class of a software company. Timelines for important projects are dictated by the C-class or VPs all driven by sales goals not by how long the project will take to produce what they're asking. They are then upset by when you deliver a happy path MVP that isn't capable of handling whatever edge use-case they come up with after it's delivered.

Pros

Really enjoyed my time here. Remote positions offered, solid benefits, pay could be better

Cons

10 out of the 12 employees on my time were laid off out of nowhere and our jobs were shipped over to the Philippines. Realpage would rather pay for cheap unexperienced unqualified labor then focus on doing things right and standing by there hardworking American employees. Business decisions like this make it even less shocking that the DOJ is going after them for shady business tactics.

Pros

If you're in Sales, the Happy Hours are GREAT! But then again, most positions are remote, so there aren't any more Happy Hours. Happy Hours mostly consist, now, of any hours not logged in.

Cons

The C-Suite will smile to your face and have middle management be the one to stab you in the back. Absolutely zero loyalty to the employees. They want the client experience to be great, at the expense of the employee experience. Rewards for 20+ hours of overtime include $25 gift cards and pizza lunches.
