Pros

Open, inclusive, culture. Great people. Job security. Benefits outside of base/bonus compensation are highly competitive to industry peers.

Cons

Near constant change. Frequent re-orgs; my team was involved in 5 major reorgs (3 where our entire reporting structure changed) over the last 18 months. Pay/bonus and 401k matching is low compared to industry peers.

Pros

Red Hat is like a choose your own adventure and you can contribute to mostly anything you’re passionate about. Very talented associates in just about every department

Cons

Red Hat can be a choose your own adventure - if you’re looking for structure and enterprise practices, look elsewhere. Pay, promotion, salary bumps are all lagging and the company is not taking steps to close the gap for current employees Change is the default - there always seems to be a state of flux - this creates a buzz but also furthers the feeling that “IBM is doing this to us.”
