Pros

Good starting pay, nice office space, subsidized lunches and coffee bar, great place to learn, fast-paced, you’re held accountable and pushed hard.

Cons

Each mid-year and annual review I had (4 total) there were excuses (unrelated to my own performance) as to why I wasn’t eligible for a raise (examples: There was a company-wide agreement no one is getting a raise this cycle, we’re only giving raises to those who are getting a promotion, etc.) despite being told everyone was eligible for compensation increases each review cycle upon receiving my initial offer. My performance was always lauded as above expectations, yet compensation never reflected this. I was also moved into a completely unrelated role to my hiring role without any warning a year into my tenure and I had no say in the decision (something I’ve since heard is quite common with the company). Work life balance was minimal to none - my team was expected to be in office 8-6 despite being told 9-5 during my interview process. The office is also extremely far away from Charlotte (where they claim to be located during your interview process) so expect to spend 1.5-2 hours a day commuting if you live in the Uptown, Elizabeth, South End, NoDa areas.

Pros

"Share some things this company is doing well"..... 1. Keeping up appearances 2. Burning out their staff 3. fueling toxic masculinity, encouraging workplace retaliation, and rewarding manipulation 4. Living by their motto - "Everything is written in Pencil" Including: - Your job description - Your salary - your reputation - your value -you As we know, these reviews will never be 100% objective and my experience will never be exactly the same as someone else's. But there is one thing we all (mostly) have in common. High school. So, if after reading all of these reviews, you're still not sure just ask yourself one question. "If you could go back and relive high school tomorrow would you? If the answer is yes, then you will thrive here.

Cons

As for the culture/workplace - It is an incredibly competitive atmosphere. If you are not a recent graduate or someone who is looking to climb the corporate ladder to Director and beyond, "manage" a team , manipulate your colleagues or do leaderships bidding, this is not the place for you. Just do your research and as someone who didn't read glassdoor until 2.5 years into it, I can validate all of it. PS: This may be common practice, but was news to me so I am including it for anyone who finds themselves in this situation now or in the future. - If you get acquired by this company, update your resume immediately and get out. Within 6 months it will feel like invasion of the body snatchers and everyone you know will suddenly be replaced by or report to someone from another RV brand, an intern, or a coordinator from their internal 'non-profit' aka cheap labor mill. Just cut and run. If you happen to be someone with a unique skill or tons of legacy knowledge within your business or team, just keep it to yourself, otherwise you will be one of the first ones out.

Pros

Campus has a ton of amenities and food selections. Many learning opportunities for those beginning their careers. Great co-workers and good people. Work/life balance was decent. Great benefits Great PTO/ sick day policy Relocation assistance

Cons

A lot of the RV experience depends on your team; I had a great team, but I know some people who did not. Pay is not competitive. Pre-Covid and the normalization of remote work, the campus amenities somewhat made up for it, but now they reject remote work and pay you less. They will then tell you how remote work leads to crippling depression, but then will hire fully remote employees that happen to not live near an RV office. I used to respect Rick (CEO), but over time you realize he’s a bit of a mega-pastor. He conflates his personal opinions with RV values, but doesn’t actually emulate them. No one is perfect, but the self-righteousness gets irritating. Which leads to the culture: it was always a bit cult-like, but it intensified in 2020 to the point where the CEO would call out certain opinions that you needed to have in order to continue working at the company.
