My time at Redfin was okay... at best.

Pros

- Make my own schedule - Work at my own pace - Independent - Assisting potential buyers in what will probably be the biggest purchase of their lives

Cons

- Field agents are completely dispensable and get thrown under the bus - Lack of cummunication from agents to field agents - Lack of training - No direct deposit - No advancement for field agents

Pros

The benefits and start up culture are great. The ability to work with clients and be honest is so nice since you're still receiving a salary. Mileage paid and vacations are also a plus.

Cons

Work life balance can be an issue but really becomes a problem when you want to become a top producer. The summers are crazy but winters allow for some down time.

Cons

Work ridiculous hours with over 50 people at a time. Redfin expects you to "tour" the new clients as well as write the transaction, go to inspections, closings, etc for a TON of people at the same time - all this for no commission and paid based on client's opinion of you. If the buyer doesn't like you for you (i.e. personality, etc) rather than the great job you did negotiating and closing the deal, then you make virtually nothing. Redfin pays you a very minimum salary with very low yearly raises. All in all - 60+ hour work weeks, high expectations with very small reward.,
