Pros
Redfin has an awesome mission, and is looking to modernize a backward and disliked industry. It has your standard tech perks and atmosphere plus some. Like people are friendly and helpful, you're surrounded by snacks and beer, beautiful office overlooking Puget Sound, catered lunch or walk to Pikes Market, good pay, hackathons, etc. Engineering is empowered, although I won't say its perfect, and provides career goals and growth. Such as the ability to focus on the technology you're most interested in, frequent 1-1s to course correct. There is lots of transparency, access to internal documents about revenue, growth, the companies longterm financial plans, etc. Going back to the mission, it's very interesting to get out of the general pure tech and have a brick and mortar side, a brokerage! Oh, and Glenn (the CEO) is an awesome guy. There are many great and hilarious stories surrounding him!
Cons
Moving to a new office next year (to accommodate growth) which probably won't be as awesome. Often run out of gold peak tea. Growing pains, although these are natural.
