Pros

Great work life balance, at least in the SF office. Managers really take care of you and have your career growth in mind. This means even though your compensation is a bit lower compared to other tech firms, the amount of hours you work might make it proportionally better compensation.

Cons

I have no confidence in our product chief. Basically chose to lay off the entire user research team in the name of going back to our start-up roots, we have no idea what the market wants in our product.

Redfin experience is dependent on the team, if you mess up 1 thing, they are laying off people and not giving them sufficient time to fix the mistake or improve as the business is going bad and Redfin is not doing good. Redfin is a good company to work for if the business is doing good. Since business is not doing good now, they are finding reasons to let go people and many good engineers are leaving anyway. -- layoffs -- toxic manager -- no good mentorship or learnings for engineers who are early in their career -- stock price -- salaries are less than promised due to stock price

Good WLB because we don't get too much work to do. People are nice because there is no pressure at work.

Cons

Code quality is poor and the leader doesn't know how to manage a size of company likes Redfin.
