Pros

Some company benefits are available

Cons

- long hours (9 hour days) - low pay (salary includes overtime and is still low) - company doesn't value education. You'll still start in a branch no matter how qualified or smart you are and be there for 12+ months - All training is done in house, and trainers don't have training qualifications - They expect it takes 12 months to less the Reece systems - Mentorship and professional development is minimal. You'll be learning from other staff at the branch, who don't have experience in your field, and who aren't qualified to train you - After 12 months in branches full time, you go part time branch part time office so you're still not where you want to be

Pros

It is a successful business and the company is stable.

Cons

Awful culture. Old school boys club except these boys got no education. Very long hours, terrible location, no parking for lower-end staff. Some bullies are allowed free rein.

Pros

Most customers are good once you stop trying to sell "The Reece Way" and instead get down to business the way people actually want to be spoken to.

Cons

The "Culture" is more like a cult. Everything is the "Reece Way". The constant praise they deliver to themselves and encourage others to praise the "Group" via an internal facebook page is rather cringe worthy. Goalposts changing at a minimum quarterly and then change again midway through a quarter depending on how the Marketing team have delivered the awfully scripted messages from upper management. These constant changes are praised as the "Group" being adaptable and changing to meet the market rather than what is really is, scrambling to fix mistakes and not understanding your own "SBU's" Lots and lots of hidden costs put onto branches and when they are not hidden they are leveled unfairly to better benefit the plubming stores. When you question about the charges at best you can get answers such as "We will look into it" or "you should be happy you even get to see these, we never showed anything to managers before" or possibly "We need to do what we can to support the group and these costs do that" at worst you will be ignored or told that you are being disruptive. Expect zero work life balance with an expected minimum 99 hour fortnight including Saturdays. Extremly high turnover of staff is expected and once during a large managers meeting it was praised by uppermanagement that a branch manager was turning his staff over every 4 months. The turnover of staff is due to the fact that the hiring process is based on personality rather than ability "we find people that fit our Culture and will teach the rest". This generally means you are turning over casual staff who have no knowledge of any trade what so ever and then run them into the ground and expecting the "Team Players" to rise up and everyone else were just those that "were not the right fit"
