Pros

The people are amazing and fun-loving. Pay is adequate but on the better side of things. Benefits are quite nice.

Cons

In the TD department, the staff is inappropriate. Not enough workers for heavy load. Regarding that, hours are extremely crazy under stress and still painful under normal load. No additional pay for working more hours a week. Best you get is a sandwich for dinner on late nights. Leadership and communication between departments is segmented and tense.

Pros

ReelFX is a unique studio, the area is a great place to live and there's a great quality of life in Dallas / Ft. Worth. (Speaking only of this location, that's my experience). People are very friendly, and coworkers tend to be kind and supportive. The kind of work is a good variety, good quality, mostly work for hire and sometimes original work.

Cons

The work isn't quite what you'd get on the coasts or a major studio, but some jobs approach it. There's definitely an entrenched leadership, which is very difficult to break into, you're either "in" or you're "out." Becuase of this, there's some difficult work to be done if they want the leadership to be more diverse. There are comments of lower salaries, which is true, but you also have to factor in there are benefits, no state sales tax, and lower cost of living. Theres also a "this is how it's done" culture, if you barge in there and think you're going to change everything, you're just gonna be frustrated.
