New Changes Mean New Headaches

Pros

Co workers and occasional free movies.

Cons

Benefits are dropping by the day. I was upset when they instituted the 2 pass per week policy but I should have seen that wouldn't be the worst of it. I am a part time manager who will be demoted in two months to floor staff reducing my hours and taking a pay cut for it as well all because I can't work full time here. This new belief that every single employee needs to be a GM one day is futile thinking. Not everyone is cut out for leadership. To say that having an employee who is great at their job is useless if they don’t want to run a theater (as indicated by an OUTRAGEOUS pay cap) is insulting to your employees. We have several employees that kick butt every shift and don’t deserve to be shirked. This is a job that a lot of people do while in school or in my case supplement my income and taking away responsibility, pay and hours not due to any performance issues but due to circumstances beyond my control in lunacy. I have worked on and off for Regal for half of my life at three different locations. I have met amazing people and lifelong friends. Toying with their livelihood and ability to pay their bills is going to make it even harder than it has been to keep them employed at this company. We need to be less focused on box flaps and nacho displays and more focused on keeping staff happy. Customers can’t see the box flaps but they can see unhappy employees and understaffed positions.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review on our Glassdoor page. We understand that all recent changes have come as a shock to our team members, however we want you to know that we are listening and taking your concerns seriously. We also know that a change in job description can be difficult for those who have been loyal to Regal for so long, however we hope you can fully understand why these changes are necessary. We would also like to hear your ideas on ways we can improve employee morale in our theatres and would like to continue to discuss your feelings on the recent restructure. If you would reach out to morgan.grimes@regalcinemas.com we would greatly appreciate it.

Worst place to watch a movie

Pros

-building management is as helpful as can be with the tools they are provided -free movies weekly (used to be daily) -lots of room for advancement -will invest in their buildings to make them look better

Cons

I could be here all day writing cons, but I’ll keep it as brief as possible. Regal is not what it used to be. Cineworld has done nothing but making changes that negatively impact management. They have a “move up or move out” mentality that prevents you from planting roots, and don’t even think about starting a family since they’ll demand you relocate if they feel you’ve been at one location for too long. They want to give floor staff everything, which is great, but when you get to levels of management they couldn’t care about you. I have worked at a building that has a constant mold problem for many years with management, myself included, being forced to scrub seats so guests don’t see. They have since added dehumidifiers but those same seats are still being used. They have unreachable expectations and on top of that, they cut all of managements pay and added a pay cap to force them to keep moving up in the company. They do not care about their staff and only believe in the company.

We take every one of your concerns seriously, and appreciate the honesty. Your feedback gives us an insight into how our teams are feeling, and for that we thank you. We are disappointed to learn that you feel some of the expectations being implemented are unreachable, and we would like to hear more on that. Pros

Free movies and 50% off concessions. Regal used to be a very good place to work.

Cons

Regal has been going downhill ever since being sold to Cineworld. They have recently GUTTED the best benefit of working here. Used to be 2 or 4 movie passes a day for free, now its 2 or 4 a week (2 for part time workers, 4 for full time). Got some news today about some change ups in the way things will be managed and I have decided that Cineworld is not interested in making their employees feel wanted or welcome in the industry. They have introduced salary caps because they do not want people to get "comfortable" working here. They do not care about loyalty or about being a great place to work. They are only interested in making decisions at corporate that will most likely fail to produce noticeable changes when put into practice in the real world and have no answers to any serious questions that have been raised. There will be hundreds of employees being forced out or forced to take demotions due to recent decisions made by out-of-touch upper management.
