Pros

- Salary is OK, but for the hours worked not worth it - Bonus is good - Some good people try to work there, but leave due do the management - Benefits are OK, PTO not so much, again, unless you are a director and above

Cons

- Toxic culture - PROCUREMENT in particular, but in other areas as well -Micromanagement from mid-management. Managers are too scared to do the right thing, or will do the VPs bidding. If they don't they will get waled to the door. -Egotistical /Vindictive/Evil managers -Older veterans of company act like they own the damn company. No Regeneron 5 - we have always done it that way. Please don't try to innovate, you will be smacked down because of it - If your manager does something unfair to you, don't go to HR. You will get turned over to the VP, and that is the kiss of death, you will be labeled a malcontent and shown the door, regardless of how hard you work -Differential treatment towards employees - VP's pets, that meet a certain "criteria" - No Career advancement, they just hire form the outside, and tell you how dumb you are - No work/life balance, except for the upper management. If they see you working long hours, you are told to work smarter, not harder, the ultimate insult. - Systems do not work or don't work well together. Lots of manual process and workarounds. - Don't get lured in by the Stock options, they are now worthless. If you are there more than 10 years, you are a millionaire. Have's and have not's.

Gross and Toxic

Pros

OK pay, good benefits, free food. If you have a family who depends on this paycheck, then stay - i guess most people are there because of that. Be very careful when you are interviewing. Observe everyone and their energy. I made a mistake of jumping into this place thinking it is really #1. There were red flags for sure, but I was too naive and excited.

Cons

If you ended up in a wrong department/group, like me, you will feel like battling at a war zone everyday. Abusive and negative supervisor with no knowledge of leadership and creates negative working group and environment. One day I went to a doctor and she was worried because my blood pressure was up to 150..... Thank God i'm no longer here. Never had I experienced anything like that. I still have nightmare about this place once in a while. I was truly traumatized. Going to meetings was like going to hell.

Pros

They pay fairly well, especially for off-shift employees

Cons

-Terrible hours, benefits, opportunities for technical promotions -Young management that are not qualified. Most of the managers are sleeping with another manager or someone who reports to them. On my first week at the job I was told IOPS management was "a giant orgy". -Managers frequently use offense in group meetings, such as the "r" word and every curse word under the sun -I have reason to believe there is racist hiring practices. The number of minorities working at IOPS is EXTREMELY low. I would say less than half that of Tarrytown. -Its hard to get promoted unless you sleep your way to the top. I know this sounds biased, but if you look at the amount of managers who are sleeping with other managers it becomes hard to deny.
