Pros

Great benefits, great first job, great pay

Cons

Work/Life balance is encouraged per HR but not enforced. Not a sustainable place to work long term. Promotions aren't based on experience, they are based on who are you friends with.

Pros

Solid base pay Solid bonus Stock options if you meet performance criteria (~50-75% of FTE), with value dependent on your level Cool science to work on, has an academic research vibe without the negatives of academia (grants, paperwork, poorly-trained researchers, etc) R&D employees not meeting expected performance will be let go if improvement isn't seen (coming from academia this is a positive)

Cons

**The following paragraph was true until the labor market tightened in August 2021**Like most of industry, REGN doesn't consider postdoctoral experience as experience in the field. So a new hire with 5 years post-doctoral experience gets hired at the same level as a fresh PhD. Normally it's difficult to get hired at the Scientist level (entry level PhD) immediately out of PhD, but the tight labor market is making this possible (April 2022). Due to the tight labor market, new hires with postdoctoral experience are now often getting Staff Scientist positions (one level above entry-level PhD positions, i.e. "Scientist"). This is great for new hires, but anyone hired at a Scientist level in the January 2020-July 2021 range got stiffed in comparison.
